Working Past Age 65

When seniors and baby boomers plan for retirement, they are usually planning for the day they leave their careers behind. The '40 hours per week' grind is generally not suitable for people approaching 65 or over. Most seniors want out of that. After all, we've put our time in; our whole lives in fact.

The truth is seniors want some better quality of life after their retirement years. Increasingly however, they may not be able to afford what they had originally planned due to financial constraints. The first thing that comes to mind for most seniors is a part time job to supplement their retirement income. However, the biggest issue with this is that even though a job might be "part time" it still requires a commitment and will degrade the quality of your retirement life.

Why work past 65? Maybe your retirement fund was degraded or lost during an economic downturn. Or maybe you had unplanned large expenses after age 50 that diminished your savings. There are a variety of reasons seniors decide to work after age 65 but they all boil down to some need to earn extra income. Already we are seeing statistics that many seniors are working well past age 65.

So here are the questions: Do you really want to work at a job until the day you die? Do you want to go on being someone else's wage slave? If you must work, wouldn't you rather work from home for yourself?

Most seniors would answer yes to that last question but might have some concerns about what they will do from home. And how they will do it. A network marketing business is perfect for seniors who want to work past their retirement age for two main reasons.

First and foremost, this type of business lets them work according to a schedule of their own choosing (not someone else's schedule). Second, a good network marketing business will have training and mentoring programs in place to help them along with those rough spots and to help them get started.

Sure it may require a trip outside your comfort zone. But a network marketing business by nature will give you plenty of support as well as plenty of control over your own time.
